Hydrogen-On-Demand Systems Worth Checking Out.
This isn't the entire list of HOD systems, but these are sources and products that I believe are reliable, they are reasonably priced and the folks are honest. All of these vendors have "do-it-yourself" plans, which I think is an important aspect of HOD systems. If you prefer to not do the work yourself, theses guys have a huge variety of assembled products available.
BUYING YOUR SYSTEM
Converting your vehicle to a hydrogen hybrid is either a 2- or 3-step process, depending on whether you decide to build or buy your booster unit. Whichever you plan to do, if you want to get the the absolute most out of this hybrid technology, you should get the manuals/plans first.
Step 1. Get the plans. This step is not essential, but there are two really good reasons why you might want to do it, even if you plan to buy a booster unit. First, the information provided in the manuals about hydrogen-on-demand in general is extremely valuable. Understanding WHY your system works, and WHAT exactly it is and isn't doing will absolutely help you get the best efficiency from your unit. And second, when you purchase a manual or set of plans, you get access to technical support, forums and TONS of relevant information about fuel efficiency and about green technologies as a whole.
Step 2. Make, or acquire a booster. While many people (myself included) prefer to make their own boosters, most people aren't going to want to bother with that. No matter. There are a wide variety of good vendors who manufacture booster units of different sizes and designs. The list is not limited to those I show here, but these guys are a very good start.
3. Install the booster. Here again, the manuals will tell you everything you need to know about installing your unit. Individual manufacturers will also have instructions on how to install the particular booster you buy.
BOOKS AND PLANS (Start Here)
These are the guys to use if you want to build a unit. The truth is that much of the information about Hydrogen-On-Demand boosters is freely available in the public domain. It's been around for years. And if you are good at reading the research papers and studying the schematics (yawn), you can actually get a set of plans for free. But if you want to cut to the chase and if you prefer easy to follow instructions with nice diagrams and pictures, you'll want to get a manual.
There may be a dozen different sources for these plans, but the ones listed here are what I consider to be the best ones and the easiest to follow.

Water4Gas. My favorite one so far. This site sells the actual plans used to build a unit. Great and extensive info, detailed instructions, plenty of resources, extensive marketplace of vendors, and a do-it-yourself friendly approach,. One of the things I like about it is that everything you need to build your own unit can be purchased at your local supermarket, auto parts, hardware or building supply store. No special tools required. It's really designed for the novice. GO TO THE WEBSITE.

Gas4Free. If you're going to buy a ready-to-install unit, this may be the best. Their booster is a bit pricey, but very well made and easy to install. But, if you want the plans for a "do-it-yourself" version, this one is less desirable. You can't get the parts as readily with this plan as with the Water4Gas unit, and several of the key elements will need to be purchased from the site. Consequently, the cost of the items needed to build your own booster is more than with the Water4Gas unit. But, make no mistake, this is a good product and will pay for itself. GO TO THE WEBSITE.

HHO Booster. The initial purchase price for this program is currently on sale at $29 (for a limited time), which makes this the cheapest "book". That's definitely a plus, and the simple design is another plus. On the negative side, the assembly plans are pretty scant, relying more on pictures than detailed instructions. Also, due to the choice of using stainless steel plates as opposed to stainless steel wire, this design doesn't produce as much hydrogen as the other two. The cost of the DIY parts are more expensive than the parts list for the Water4Gas design, but the total price of the unit including parts and the plans is still only about $100. In the end, this is a pretty good economical choice for a basic booster. One caution - if you are planning to get a manual but intend to purchase a unit, don't use this source for your manual. Their manual doesn't give nearly as much information as the other two. GO TO THE WEBSITE.
BOOSTERS AND KITS
"Step 2" in the process of converting your car to a hydrogen hybrid is to acquire a booster, either by building one or buying one. To be completely clear, the whole process is actually pretty low-tech, so you should have no trouble installing a pre-built booster even if you don't read the manuals. Many people buy a booster unit without first getting any of the manuals or plans, and they do fine. My emphasis on the value of the manual (especially the ones form Water4Gas) is not just the booster plans, it is the volume of other information you get that helps you get your booster running most efficiently.
Of course, the company that sells you a booster or kit will also provide basic information about Hydrogen-On-Demand and will tell you what you need to know to install and operate the booster. Fear not. And all of the vendors listed below do a good job of providing the necessary information you need to make sure you can get your booster installed and running, whether you buy a DIY kit or buy a pre-built booster.
Do-It-Yourself Kits
The big advantage of DIY Kits is that they are a lot cheaper than a pre-builf unit and you really do understand how all the pieces work together and how to make your booster achieve maximum efficiency. Yes, it does take time to put it all together, there's no getting around that. But the kits make it a lot quicker and easier than if you have to gather all the parts yourself, and the instructions are as easy to follow as a cake recipe. If you are going to assemble a kit, then it's REALLY important to have good instructions, and this is where I highly recommend having your own manual. Most of the kits listed below are based on the Water4Gas design and so having that manual makes good sense. Check the information on the sites you visit to be sure that you can get a complete manual (not just the assembly instructions) if you are going to do the assembly yourself.
Pre-Built Boosters
When I say that ANYONE can convert their car to a hybrid, I mean ANYONE. The availability of pre-built boosters makes it possible for every single car owner to have one. Installation is very easy. You can literally have your car converted within an hour after getting your booster. Booster prices can vary widely, with the more expensive units including some of the enhancements that you can add to your system. It's like anything else, really. You can buy a basic MP3 player, or you can buy a 20GB video IPOD. They both play music equally well, and one of them has a bunch of additional features.
I'm not against those extra features. In fact, some of them can turn out to be necessary to make your booster operate at maximum efficiency. But herein is another reason I recommend that you get your hands on a manual BEFORE you buy a kit or an assembled unit. It helps YOU decide whether or not you need the beefed up boosters, and if so, which features you want included.
How ever you decide to go - build it from scratch, buy a kit, or buy the finished unit - there are plenty of options on how to proceed. Check out these vendors to get started.
BOOST, BABY. BOOST!

Greentech Systems, LLC. These guys have a nice selection of kits for DIY assembly at VERY good prices. (The kits are based on the Water4Gas design, so you will still need the manuals from them. But, these kits provide everything you need to assemble a booster so you don't have to gather your own parts.) They also have an impressive inventory of individual booster components (just in case you can't find something, don't want to bother looking, or if you need to repair or replace a single component) and they provide several booster enhancement accessories for even greater gas efficiiency. GO TO WEBSITE.

Powered By Water. The only thing these guys do is make the kit for assembling a basic hydrogen booster based on the Water4Gas plan. Not sexy, but they do a good job of that one thing. If you want to keep it simple and easy, you should get the manual and then get the kit from these guys. They also have a good selection of installation plans for the booster itself and for the various enhancements used to improve the milage result. GO TO WEBSITE.

How2SaveFuel. Full service site that offers kits, accessories, assembled units and enhancements. They also have a training course available for people who want to learn how to install the boosters (Authorized Installer Program for Mechanics Network). Good source of information and research about Hydrogen-On-Demand. GO TO WEBSITE.
WANT EVEN MORE HYDROGEN?
RunYourCarWithWater - If you really want to dive in to hydrogen fuel systems, here's your chance. This design isn't a "booster", it's a "fuel cell". In other words, it actually converts water into enough hydrogen gas to be the primary fuel source for your engine. That's right, you basically run your car on water.
Now, before you dismiss such an idea, you should know that most major auto manufacturers already have their own versions of cars that use this system. Several models (i.e., Honda and BMW) are due to hit the market within the next 2 years. It's definitely proven and on the horizon as a main-stream alternative fuel car. Of course, it's definitely harder to build your own.
The plans provided by these guys are a solid design that has been around for a long time. Customers report great results from the installed unit, but the guys on "MythBusters" were unable to make it work. In my opinion, it's just a bit too difficult for the basic user to follow the instructions on how to build and install. Of course, if you are an engineering type, this may appeal to you. But for everyone else, I don't think so. On the one hand, this design is by far the absolute best mileage efficiency of all the do-it-yourself designs. Of course, it doesn't actually use any gas, so ... duh! On the other hand, it isn't a breeze to build. If you can build it, you'll have a solid product. But it's definitely not for the novice.
